The itinerary of the cultural tour:
Day 1: Europe- Bishkek
Arrival at the airport in Kyrgyzstan. Transfer to Bishkek (35 km-30 min). After breakfast sight-seeing tour of Bishkek, the capital of the Kyrgyz Republic. From 1926 to 1991 the city was known as Frunze named after the Bolshevik military leader Mihail Frunze. After the independence it was renamed Bishkek. Visiting Ala-Too Square, the main square of Kyrgyzstan, The State Historical Museum, providing different founds and exhibits relating to the Kyrgyz history, Old Square, the trace of the Soviet era, Manas Square called after Kyrgyz legendary hero Manas, "ZUM" shopping center, the best shopping center where you can buy different souvenirs. Lunch at a local restaurant. Visiting colorful Osh Bazaar, the main open-air market in Bishkek. In the evening traditional diner with in a national restaurant. Overnight at the hotel.
Day 2: Bishkek - Bokonbaevo (250 km; 3 hours)
In the morning after breakfast transfer to Bokonbaevo that is situated on the shore of the Issyk-Kul Lake (hot lake), a pearl of Central Asia, the second biggest mountain lake in the world after the Titicaca Lake in South America. On the way visit of the Burana Museum, the capital of the Karahanid Empire in the 11th century called Balasagun. Then hiking in Konorchek Canyon - magic labyrinth made of red rocks (3 h). This amazing canyon is often called a small copy of Grand Canyon in the United States. After this walking we arrive in Bokonbaevo, where we will visit a hunter with golden eagles. At the cup of tea he will tell us the way of training birds of pray and then he will show us his eagles. Overnight in a yurt.
Day 3: Bokonbaevo-Song-Kul (500 km; 6 hours).
Early in the morning transfer to the Song-Kul Lake. On the way stop in Kochkor village, where we can explore national traditions and customs, watch the process of making traditional Kyrgyz carpets and see a folklore concert. Then setting off for Sary-Bulak, where we can try fried fish from the Son-Kul Lake. In the afternoon drive to a small valley of Toeloek, then over the Kalmak-Ashu Pass to the lake. Evening walk from one yurt to another to the Son-Kul Lake ("Last Lake"), situated at the high of 3016 m above the sea level. We can see the life of nomadic people, traditions and customs of Kyrgyz ancestors. We meet a Kyrgyz family that hosts us in their yurt for a night.
Day 4: Son-Kul Lake (3016m)
In the morning we will make an excursion to the mystical stones of Manas. Then drive along the coast of the lake towards the jailoo (summer pasture) of our nomads. We will try Kumyz, a traditional Kyrgyz drink (fermented mare's milk) and other dishes made of milk. In the afternoon we will watch national horse riding games and participate in the process of assembling a yurt. Free time for enjoying the wonderful nature. Overnight in yurt.
Day 5: Son-Kul Lake - Kyzyl-Korgon( 400 km; 3 hours)
In the morning transfer to Kyzyl-Korgon village, where we can explore red magic rocks, swim in cleanest reservoir and take natural shower. First coming up to Kara - Keche canyon then to Kekemeren gorge via Chaek. We buy fresh products and chicken meat in Chaek in order to cook together the evening dinner. Night in tent.
Day 6: Kyzyl Korgon-Chichkan (450km,4 hours)
Transfer to Chichkan gorge. Drive to the Susamyr Valley, a huge prairie where local nomads come in summer to herd their cattle (3440). On the way there are beautiful different colour mountains, biggest river and nomads. On the way we stop in Kojomkul village, where we visit a small museum of famous Kyrgyz Kojomkul who was strongest man among the Kyrgyz. Arrival at Chichkan gorge. Overnight at the hotel.
Day 7: Chichkan-Sary-Chelek (300 km, 3 hours)
After breakfast we leave Chichkan. Driving up to the Toktogul Dam. Picnic on the shore of the reservoir then getting to the canyon rising over the Naryn River. On the main highway Osh-Bishkek turn to the Sary-Chelek lake. We drive through a few little passes, then we come to wide pastures and we drive through small villages and we camp in Artyk. Overnight in tent.
The whole day we spend at the Sary Chelek Lake, one of the most beautiful lakes in Kyrgyzstan. Many years ago there was a gorge with a mountain river and after an avalanche the water collected right in the gorge and we have an excellent chance to enjoy its beauty! It is about 2.5 km wide and 75 km long! The altitude of this mountain lake is 1873 m . a. s. l. This famous is far from cities and it is really worth to visit it! Hiking all day in the region. Night in tent.
D9: Sary-chelek-Arslan-bob (180 km; 2 hours)
The day starts with a breakfast at 8 o'clock. Afterwards we start our trip to Arslan Bob forest by car. Arslan Bob is one of the most famous places in Kyrgyzstan. Here the trees, with their dome shaped crowns atop two meter thick trunks, can reach a height of 30 meters and are found growing wild on mountain slopes and along river banks at an altitude of between 1000 and 1800 meters above the sea level. Arslan Bob itself lies at 1700 m. a. s. l. Along the whole way to the forest you will see plenty of picturesque places that will fascinate you by their beauty. This night you will spend with a local family. In the evening we help the hostess to cook the national dish «Dimlyama». Overnight in a guesthouse.
Walking in Arslanbob walnut forests covering 11 000 hectares and sometimes called "the Royal Woods of Kyrgyzstan". It is known that nuts from this area were exported along the Great Silk Road in the Middle Ages. Here we can enjoy the wonderful nature and have a hike to a small waterfall. Overnight in guesthouse.
D11: Arslan-bob-Osh (220 km, 2,5 hours)
Coming down to the Fergana valley towards Osh city, the southern capital of Kyrgyzstan . On the way visit to a town of Uzgen that once was an important city of the Karakhanid Kaghanate (a Turkic dynasty) and a major trading point on the Great Silk Road. The architecture complex consisting of 11th century minaret and three mausoleums dating from the 11th and 12th centuries makes Uzgen one of the unique architectural sites of medieval Central Asia.
Arrival in Osh city. Sightseeing tour of Osh. We will have an opportunity to see famous Sulaiman Too (Solomon's Mountain), that is situated in the city center and has four slopes and that is considered to be a pilgrimage place for local Muslims, because, according to the legend, biblical prophet Solomon (Suleiman in the Koran) was buried at the foot of it. At the top of the mountain (about 30 minutes climb) there is a flagpole and a mosque built by Babur, the founder of the Mogul Dynasty in India, who was a king of the Fergana Valley in the 15th century.
In one of the caves of Suleiman Too there is the Suleiman Mountain Museum, where we can see different things that were found in the immediate vicinity of the mountain, photos of the mountain's petroglyphs, that date back to different centuries.
In the afternoon visit of a traditional chaihana (tea-house), where you can try traditional Kyrgyz and Asian dishes, including plov, lagman, samsy- baked meat dumplings that are very popular in Central Asia.
After lunch a walk around the city, opportunity to see ordinary people's life. Visit the famous Osh Bazaar, a classical example of an eastern market, situated on the bank of the Ak-Bura River and a three-storey yurt.
In the evening dinner and overnight in guesthouse.
D12: Osh - Bishkek.
In the morning flight to Bishkek. Free day for shopping and walking around the city. Overnight in guesthouse.
